Spend Gold

Roll vs upgrade vs elixir — where gold pays off most.

The Golden Rule: Roll First

  • Early game, spend gold on rolls, not upgrades. Roster breadth (more distinct heroes) beats deepening one unit.
  • Gold does not earn interest — hoarding it slows you down. Each roll is a chance at a Rare or Epic that out-values any early upgrade.
  • Once you have a full Uncommon squad with role coverage, you can start shifting gold toward upgrades.

Upgrade Priority

  • Upgrade your main damage dealer and tank first — they drive clear speed and survival.
  • Spread a little to keep your healer alive in longer fights, but avoid over-investing in Commons you will replace.
  • Match upgrades to the zone you are pushing; over-leveling for an easy zone wastes gold.

Zone Progression Pacing

  • Gold is also your zone key — unlocking the next biome is a gold sink that competes directly with rolls and upgrades. Budget for it instead of impulse-buying the unlock the moment it appears.
  • A good rhythm: push a new zone when your current one feels fully farmed — kills are instant and gold-per-minute has flattened. Unlocking too early means slower clears and worse income than staying put.
  • Each new zone raises both enemy difficulty and gold drops, so the unlock pays itself back — but only if your squad can clear it. If you hit a wall, drop back one zone to farm instead of dumping gold into panic upgrades.
  • Heroplay has teased a 🐉 dragon zone on the official game page. Nothing verified is live yet — but it is a good reason to keep a modest gold buffer as you approach the endgame zones.
  • The Guilds season (Update 5) wrapped on August 8, 2026 — but a season close is not a reason to rush an unlock you cannot clear. As of August 25, 2026 the official Roblox experience API puts RNG Heroes past 25.5M+ visits with 197.7K+ favorites (Update 8 has been live since August 22, 2026, the title reads "Heroes RNG 🏹" after the [♾️TOWER] prefix was removed), so endgame zones are busier than ever; keep the same pacing rule and only push when your current zone is fully farmed.

Elixirs Are Precious

  • Rare elixirs permanently boost a hero — reserve them for your settled main team, never for temporary units.
  • Buy elixirs from the daily shop when offered; they are usually cheaper there than the value they add.
  • Pair elixir use with a Luck session so your upgraded heroes are also your best pulls.
